Local Skipper Course

This course is aimed at young people, aged 18 and over, and adults.

Qualifications
In accordance with current legislation, the Local Skipper License entitles its holder to command Recreational Vessels (ER) regardless of the power and dimension of the boat, in day and night navigation, up to a maximum distance of 25 miles from a safe harbor and up to 6 miles from the coast. 

You can obtain the Local Skipper License directly, without taking the Day Skipper License in advance.

The course is authorized by the DGRM, under the terms of Decree-Law No. 93/2018.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Know how to speak, write and understand Portuguese
  • Residence Permit (only if you do not have Portuguese nationality)
  • Minimum compulsory education (according date of birth)

Duration of the course
40 Hours: 30h Theoretical Classes, 10h Practical Classes

€530 per person

Prices include VAT at the current legal rate, exam expenses, License issuance, Theoretical Manual and administrative expenses.

• Medical certificate for the practice of water sports;
• Declaration that you know how to swim.
