Clube Naval Cascais windsurfer Martim Monteiro competed in the Windsurf Speed World Championship in La Palme, Southern France, from April 22nd to 24th.

The sailor set a national speed record, reaching 42.25 knots over a 500-meter course, finishing the World Championship in 12th overall.

Afterwards, Martim Monteiro headed to Embalse de Gasset, Spain, where he won the Spanish National Funboard Slalom Fin Championship organized by the Club Deportivo Vicario-Pantanícolas de Ciudad Real.
